Most music quizzes test everyone on the same famous songs. Spotify's version is more personal: the questions are built around your music — the artists and tracks your account actually plays. That makes it a fun five minutes, and also a neat mirror: get a question wrong and you've learned something about your own habits. The catch, and the reason this guide exists, is that the quiz isn't in everyone's app yet. It's a Premium feature, it's 18+, it launched in English, and like most Spotify features it's rolling out in waves rather than landing everywhere on one day. Missing quiz usually means one of those four things — not anything you did wrong.

If the quiz is missing, it's usually eligibility or rollout — not something you broke.

Where to look first

  1. Update the Spotify app. New features hide behind old versions more often than any other cause. Update first, then look — not the other way around.
  2. Search inside Spotify for "Music Quiz." Don't just scan your Home screen; features like this often live behind search or in a games/hub area before they earn a front-page tile.
  3. Check Home and Search tabs once more after updating. Rollout features frequently appear a day or two after the update that enables them, so a second look later in the week is worth it.

Still missing? The three eligibility checks

  1. Are you on Premium? The Music Quiz is a Premium feature. If your account is on the free tier, the quiz won't appear, full stop — this is the single most common reason it's missing.
  2. Is the account 18+? The quiz is an adults-only feature. Accounts registered under 18 won't see it, even on Premium.
  3. What's your app language and region? It launched in English and is expanding in stages. If your Spotify runs in another language, you may simply be in a later wave — annoying, but temporary.

When all three checks pass

Premium, adult account, English app, fully updated — and still no quiz? Then it's the rollout itself. Spotify ships features account-by-account, and there's no setting that forces your turn. The honest fix is patience plus the occasional re-check after app updates. Be suspicious of any site or video promising a trick to "unlock it instantly" — there isn't one, and the ones claiming otherwise are fishing for clicks.

Once you find it

  • Play it like a mirror, not an exam. The questions come from your listening, so your score says more about your habits than your knowledge.
  • Compare with a friend on their account. Different listening, different quiz — that's the fun of a personalized format.
  • Revisit after a month of different listening. New habits mean new questions; the quiz effectively refreshes as you do.

Small feature, good idea, slightly hidden. Now you know where it lives — and if it's not there yet, you know exactly why, and that it's not your fault.
