Apple's October 13 event had a name — Welcome Home — and it meant it. No phones this time: the whole show was about your house. A brand-new home display called HomeView, a faster Apple TV 4K, a new HomePod mini 2, and a wave of cameras, locks, and sensors from Apple's partners. Four announcements is a lot to keep straight, so here is each one with the only two numbers that really matter: what it costs, and when you can actually get it.

HomeView: Apple's new home hub

The headline act is HomeView, a dedicated display for running your Apple Home — your cameras, lights, locks, and scenes in one place instead of buried in an app. It comes in two versions, Tabletop and Wall Mounted, $299 each. Pre-orders opened October 13 and it goes on sale November 13. Two honest fine-print notes before you plan a wall for it: it needs an iPhone or iPad running software 27.2 or later, camera history runs through iCloud+ with storage limits, mounts and cables can add to that $299 — and it is not sold in the EU at launch.

Apple TV 4K: same box, much faster

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K gets Apple's A19 chip and 128GB of storage for $299 — pre-orders opened October 13, on sale November 13, the same day as HomeView. If your current streaming box feels sluggish, this is the upgrade aimed at you: snappier menus, smoother streaming, and more headroom for games.

HomePod mini 2: the easy yes

The friendliest announcement is the HomePod mini 2 at $149, in five colors. Pre-orders opened October 13 and it arrives first, on October 30. One caveat worth knowing before you buy: the smarter Siri AI is promised in a future software update with no date yet, so buy it for the speaker and home hub it is today — and treat the smarter Siri as a bonus when it lands.

The cheapest way into Apple's new home lineup is the $149 speaker — and it is the one that arrives first.

The Home Collection: partners fill the gaps

Apple is not making everything itself. A new Home Collection of partner accessories starts rolling out in December, with more pieces in early 2027: cameras, a doorbell, a lock, thermostats, and sensors from makers including LG and Schneider, priced roughly from $39.95 up to $399.95. If the thing your home is missing is a sensor or a doorbell rather than a screen, this December wave is the part of the event written for you.

What to buy first

  1. Want a better speaker or a first home hub? HomePod mini 2 — $149, in your hands October 30. Nothing else in the lineup is cheaper or sooner.
  2. Is your TV box old and slow? The new Apple TV 4K — $299, November 13.
  3. Want a control screen for the whole house? HomeView — $299, November 13. Check your iPhone is on 27.2 or later first, and budget a little extra for mounting hardware on the wall version.
  4. Missing a doorbell, lock, or sensors? Skip the October pre-orders and wait for the Home Collection in December.

Good to know

  • Pre-orders are already open for HomeView, Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini 2 — all three opened October 13, so there is no launch-morning scramble unless stock runs short.
  • Two dates to remember: October 30 for the speaker, November 13 for HomeView and Apple TV 4K.
  • Siri AI timing is fuzzy — it is slated for a later update in English and supported markets first, with no firm date announced.

That is the whole event, minus the keynote glow: one display, one faster TV box, one affordable speaker, and a December wave of the small stuff. Pick the one gap in your home, and the right order to buy in makes itself.
